Walden; Or, Life in the Woods, Henry David Thoreau

Compare and contrast “Higher Laws” to the end of “Spring” (p. 203–”A single gentle rain makes the grass many shades greener”–to p. 206). What overall lesson does Thoreau seem to derive from phenomena of Nature? Does he interpret them consistently? Do you think he is correct? Is there any evidence presented in the phenomena described in these passages that he seems to misread or ignore? Feel free to bring in other passages from elsewhere in the book, as needed.
