I was introduced to cultures and beliefs I found to be fascinating and confusing. I was able to find the career I had been seeking; however, it came with a disturbing price…racism. I never directly dealt with racism until I started working for the federal government. I felt discrimination from men who felt females should not work in a prison, nor did they feel females should be supervisors. Racism was and still is being displayed every day, especially now with the upcoming election.
