For this first essay, students are expected to provide a sophisticated summary of Isabelle Gill’s “Representation of Disney Princesses in the Media” (738-752), and then provide a clear and focused examination of Gill’s purpose and how well she achieves it. Students should be prepared to consider the following elements of Gill’s argument:

Her major claims, reasons, and evidence
The components of her analysis
Her purpose for writing the argument
